Spring Thyme in the Park: Alexandria, Indiana

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Finally, it is spring! The air is warmer and people everywhere are starting to get rid of their thick jackets. The sun is brighter and gone are the overcast skies that used to create a gloomy atmosphere in the land. People are gradually coming out of their homes and enjoying the surroundings. Flowers begin to bloom and show first signs of life that will last for another two seasons.

People are prone to be more joyful and vibrant during spring since it is officially the time to wander around, meet and greet new friends and stroll around the park. Spring is personally my favorite season of the year since it evokes new life, fresh start and new possibilities. It is the season that reminds me that no matter what happened in the past, there will always be a time to catch up and make it right. It's like new hope amidst our daily difficulties and challenges. Springtime makes me happy because it reminds me that life is still beautiful and the sun still keeps on shining no matter what.

At Alexandria, Indiana there will be a festival entitled Spring Thyme in the Park. It is an event where families are invited to attend. It is an arts & crafts show with fun and amusing activities for the kids and delicious food and beverages for the adults. Fun art classes for the kids will be taught by instructors which includes face painting classes, watercolor and pot painting classes.

A crafts show will be present to the much delight of moms who are big fans of hand made crafts. There is even a flea market or bazaar that will feature second hand items in very, very low prices. And when I say low, I mean 50% discounts!

If you are visiting in Indiana, I urge you to go and take a look at the spring festival. Bring the whole family for a day full of merriment and authentic "Spring Fun".
